NCAA Women’s Lacrosse
Growing up, I played virtually every sport available to me, from soccer and softball to ice and field hockey. I have always loved being a part of a team and working toward a collective goal. In the fourth grade, I began playing lacrosse, and soon, my dream became to play at the collegiate level. I committed to play Division I lacrosse for the inaugural team at the University of Akron during my senior year of high school. At Akron, I loved my teammates but did not feel challenged or competitive. I wanted something more significant than a chance to play for a conference championship; I wanted to play for a national championship. So, I decided that I could not stay at Akron just for my friendships and transferred to East Stroudsburg, a top-ranked Division II program. At ESU, I earned a starting position on defense after a long and intense preseason. That hard work was worth it, as my team went on to win a conference championship, a regional championship, and played for the NCAA National Championship in 2022. Though we didn’t win, being the second-best team in the nation was incredibly fulfilling. Playing at this high level taught me many things about myself and my mindset while creating memories and friends I will always cherish.
